The book contains twenty grooves, separated into three melodic ideas. Each melodic idea (example or riff) is first demonstrated by the saxophone and band, then the groove is played without the saxophone so you can play the music yourself. The first melodic idea is usually the easiest, the second slightly harder and the third the most difficult.

All of the music features Super Groovers Frank Villafranca on alto saxophone and Andrew D. Gordon on keyboards and guitar.
