Keyboardist and Jazzland label boss Bugge Wesseltoft has been at the heart of Europe’s forward-looking jazz scene since he first unleashed his New Conception of Jazz in 1996, uniting spontaneous improv with edgy beat music.

He continues this journey into hybrid sonic territory in a new trio with former EST bassist Dan Berglund and electronica wizard Henrik Schwarz, who release their debut album Trialogue this month ahead of their EFG London Jazz Festival performance in November. Stuart Nicholson caught up with the shapeshifting keys man to get beneath the surface of his latest electro-acoustic soundworld
