Bugge Wesseltoft Podcast Interview – 20 Years of Jazzland and Beyond

Leading Norwegian label Jazzland Records continues its 20th anniversary celebrations this week with a residency at Kings Place on 18-19 November as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, with appearances by its boss and pioneering keyboard wizard Bugge Wesseltoft with his New Conception of Jazz Band (above), singer Beady Belle and saxophonist Håkon Kornstad.

Back in March this year the label brought together all of its leading names, and some special guests including Dhafer Youssef, for a night of stunning night of music at Oslo's Rockefeller concert hall. Before the concert began Bugge spoke to Jazzwise editor Mike Flynn about his and the label's evolution from humble beginnings to global renown - listen to the interview below.
