The much-loved Bath Jazz Weekend returns once more in early January – running from 6 to 8 January – with an eclectic high-calibre line up for UK jazz musicians. Hosted at the Widcombe Social Club, the bright, modern venue next to the Kennet & Avon canal with its custom-built gig space is the perfect location for this three-day family- friendly winter festival.

The line-up includes several stellar piano talents with rare solo sets from Andrew McCormack and Matthew Bourne, while Rebecca Nash and Robert Mitchell perform music from their newly released albums – Redefining Element 78 from Nash and her quintet, and Mitchell’s True Think Band play music from his Hold The Light/The New Resistance.

Further names on the bill include acclaimed percussionist Harriet Riley and trumpeter Pete Judge’s special commission Comfort in Chaos, with Jo Silverston, Stevie Toddler, Caelia Lunniss, Matt Brown, JJ and Georgie Ward; saxophonist Jake McMurchie’s Quartet, high-flying improv from tenor sax titan Paul Dunmall’s Quintet, a solo vibes set from Orphy Robinson and much more.
