Leading UK jazz artists set to appear at new music venue and education hub's inaugural jazz season at Embassy Gardens, Nine Elms

The World Heart Beat Music Academy has announced a wide-ranging programme for its inaugural jazz season at its new state of the art venue/studio/education hub in Embassy Gardens, Nine Elms. Leading UK names are among the highlights including revered British pianist and World Heart Beat Patron Julian Joseph, Mercury-nominated pianist Zoe Rahman, top Danish bassist Jasper Høiby, rising drum star Jas Kayser and Cuban violin virtuoso Omar Puente alongside leading classical and folk artists.

The Academy was founded in Wandsworth 2009 to meet the need for affordable music education from grassroots to professional level for South Londoners no matter their age, background, or skills. Now, the new venue in Nine Elms features also features a 200-capacity auditorium and industry-standard recording studio.

The charity provides music tuition and performances opportunities for 380 young people each year outside of school hours and aims to provide opportunities for all, with an ‘open door’ approach that welcomes any young person interested in learning music. The academy also provides bursaries and free instruments to more than half of the students that come through their door.

Early 2023 jazz highlights are: Julian Joseph Trio (20 Jan); Zoe Rahman Quintet (21 Jan); Tony Kofi Quartet plays Monk (28 Jan); Plumm (2 Feb); Jasper Høiby's Planet B (4 Feb);  James Wade-Sired (9 Feb); Leah Wing & Lydia Newlands (16 Feb); Asa Martinson (2 Mar); Omar Puente Charanga Jazz Sextet (10 Mar); Jas Kayser Trio (16 Mar) and Anjelo Disons & The Oracle Collective (23 Mar).
