Highlights at London’s Jazz Café this spring to look out for include Jazzwise cover star and rising US alto sax star Lakecia Benjamin who plays her first UK show in support of her powerful new album, Phoenix; and performances from rising jazz-soul vocal stars Samara Joy and Mica Miller. Flamboyant Cameroonian virtuoso bass hero and singer Richard Bona is back for two high-energy nights while two contemporary guitar greats appear with shows from influential guitar master Kurt Rosenwinkel and two-handed tapping legend Stanley Jordan. YouTube music star and bassist Adam Neeley returns to the UK for several shows with his kicking jazztronica group Sungazer, with the Jazz Café presenting their show at larger venue, Heaven, on Villiers Street, and there’s also a must-see gig from charismatic Cuban jazz pianist Alfredo Rodríguez.

Dates are: Jazz Jamaica (4 Mar); Samara Joy (7 Mar); Richard Bona (14-15 Mar); Kurt Rosenwinkel (22 Mar); Sungazer @ Heaven (24 Mar); Lakecia Benjamin (27 Mar); Billie Holiday's Birthday (8 April); Susana Baca (21 April); Mica Miller (5 May); Stanley Jordan (11 May); Alfredo Rodríguez Trio (16 May) and Fred Wesley & The New JBs (22 May).
