Bringing together the worlds of jazz, progressive classical and global timbres and sounds, Trio HLK feature Rich Harrold (piano & synth), Ant Law (8-string guitar) and Rich Kass (drums). The trio have just launched their first single, and title track, of their forthcoming 2024 album, Anthropometricks, that’s set for release on 15 March on Ubuntu Music.

According to the band’s guitarist Ant Law the track “is a severely encrypted version of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie's ‘Anthropology’.  The band take the phrase ‘Rhythm Changes’ quite literally with far more time signatures than your RDA!”

This track also marks the band’s first collaboration with virtuosic singer Varijashree Venugopal, while the new album (that also features cellist Natalie Clein) captures the evolution the Trio has undergone since their 2018 debut album, Standard Time, and subsequent extensive international touring – both in the trio format and with long-time collaborator, Dame Evelyn Glennie.
