Revered US pianist Vijay Iyer is set to unveil his new trio of in-demand bassist Linda May Han Oh and dynamic drummer Tyshawn Sorey, on Uneasy, his forthcoming album on ECM, released on CD on 9 April - with a 2LP version released on 28 May. Early listens reveal a powerful chemistry between the trio as they explore a range of Iyer originals alongside their versions of Cole Porter’s ‘Night And Day’ and pianist Geri Allen’s ‘Drummer’s Song’ in what looks to be the beginnings of an exciting new phase for Iyer.

Also on the ECM spring schedule are new albums from acclaimed Swiss pianist Nik Bärtsch who released Entendre on 19 March, while renowned Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen also debuts a new three-piece with his forthcoming album Bayou (released 6 April) featuring Marthe Lea on saxophone, clarinet, percussion and vocals alongside pianist Ayumi Tanaka. All three of these albums will be released on vinyl on 28 May. And finally, Sinikka Langeland, the Norwegian traditional folk singer and musician who’s known for combining traditional music with elements of jazz, will release her latest album on ECM, Wolf Rune.
