Brian Auger – From Oblivion to Here

One of Britain’s foremost Hammond heroes, Brian Auger’s career began in swinging 1960s London when he was asked to dep for an indisposed Georgie Fame.

Subsequently forming The Trinity with Julie Driscoll, and then his revered group Oblivion Express, Auger went on to be hailed as the Godfather of Acid Jazz in the 1990s, latterly straddling both jazz and rock worlds. Gigging prolifically today at the age of 76, and with the release of two new CDs, Live In Los Angeles and Back To The Beginning, Kevin Le Gendre caught up with the accidental icon for a younger generation
