Cloudmakers brings together three of the UK’s most dynamic young jazz musicians in acclaimed vibes virtuoso Jim Hart, bass demon Michael Janisch and powerhouse drummer Dave Smith, the latter also banging out beats with Led Zep singer Robert Plant on many globetrotting stadium dates.
Not your average power trio, the band whips up a mighty sonic storm that blows as hard as it shimmers, with Hart’s forceful playing leading the charge. Selwyn Harris spoke to vibist and LOOP Collective founder Hart about how his recent move to France and his other work with Marius Neset and Ivo Neame is helping export his fiery playing to the wider world
