Get The Blessing – Stargazy Guys

From awkward outsiders to international post-jazz hipsters, Get The Blessing have consistently produced noisily-nuanced yet hard to define music for 15 years now.

Initially performing a punkish take on Ornette Coleman’s music, their sound has expanded outward, creatively using live effects to paint on a larger sonic canvas. Selwyn Harris talks to bassist Jim Barr and trumpeter Pete Judge about how recording their spaced-out new opus Astronautilus in a remote cottage on the Cornish coast found them staring at the stars for inspiration
