Julian Siegel teams up with top American musicians Joey Baron and Greg Cohen for a new CD release following successful tours together and ahead of their latest live dates. One of the busiest saxophonists around, Siegel talks to Andy Robson about the genesis of the group, the different approach of the Americans and his own new perceptions.

Julian Siegel yawns, stretches and yanks at his mess of now greying hair. He’s just done three unexpected nights at Ronnie’s, playing standards in the house band, and it’s catching up with him. “But it’s a nice problem to have, so much work – but don’t tell anyone, the phone might stop ringing,” and he smiles quietly. Which he has every right to. It’s been a good year for Siegel the sax man.
