Rymden – Space Odyssey

Rymden, the triumvirate of Norwegian keyboardist Bugge Wesseltoft, and Swedes drummer Magnus Öström and bassist Dan Berglund are a new Euro-jazz supergroup to be reckoned with.

Wesseltoft’s New Conception of Jazz and piano trio EST, of which Öström and Berglund were founder members, caused seismic shifts in Nordic as well as European jazz from the 1990s through to the new millennium. Now Rymden (the Swedish word for 'space'), release their debut Reflections & Odysseys on Wesseltoft’s iconic Jazzland label. Selwyn Harris met up with the band during their recent visit to London to discuss their musical bond and life in a new prog-jazz supergroup
