Back with a new jazz-rock edged album, One, Grammy-winning saxophonist and composer Tim Garland has opened a new chapter in a career that’s already seen him work in close collaboration with luminaries such as Chick Corea and King Crimson’s Bill Bruford.

Stuart Nicholson spoke to the bandleader about the direct impact that such acclaimed artists have had on this incendiary new work, while charting the formative and lasting influence of the Canterbury scene, Celtic folk and even death metal
