Rising through the ranks of Tomorrow's Warriors, the Nu Civilisation Orchestra, Jazz Jamaica and Courtney's Pine's Venus Warriors band, George formed her Quartet in 2014.
The band features pianist Sarah Tandy, award winning bassist Daniel Casimir and drummer Femi Koleoso, with acclaimed singer Zara McFarlane guesting on one track on the album. The mainly originals set draws inspiration from her West African roots, calypso and the driving post-bop Jeff 'Tain' Watts and Kenny Garrett, whose 'Ms Baja' is also featured on the album along with a personal take on Jerry Branin's 'The Night Has A Thousand Eyes'.
Tour dates for early 2017 are: The Lescar, Sheffield (22 Feb); Matt & Phred's, Manchester (23 Feb); Zeffirelli's, Ambleside (25 Feb); Seven Arts, Leeds (26 Feb); Kenilworth Rugby Club (27 Feb); The Royal Legion, North Wales (28 Feb) and Dempsey's, Cardiff (1 Mar).
