Cherise, Blue Lab Beats and Jas Kayser for new Brick Lane Jazz Festival

The inaugural Brick Lane Jazz Festival packs in leading lights of the resurgent ‘new jazz’ scene across multiple venues in London’s East End

The inaugural Brick Lane Jazz Festival will take place at the across five venues on Brick Lane, London from 22-24 April with the 24 artists drawn from the capital’s groove-fuelled young scene with emerging and established names appearing.

These include vocalist Cherise, beat-fuelled duo Blue Lab Beats, funky trio Yakul, bands led by saxophonist Binker Golding, bassist Dan Casimir, drummer Jas Kayser, retro-kings Kansas Smitty’s, trumpeter Mark Kavuma’s multi-faceted crew The Banger Factory, plus newcomers Fehdah, WheelUP, Jelly Cleaver, Cubafrobeat, Sambroso All Stars, Isobella Burnham, Ariwo, Tom Sochas, Amy Gadiaga, Finn Carter Quartet, Waaju, Tjoe Man Cheung, and Tanhai Collective.

Day and weekend tickets are available at £25 / £60 price points, and shows will also be individually ticketed, with tickets ranging from £5 - £15. There will also be some free entry live shows, while Café 1001 will host a free-of-charge line-up of DJ’s – including trumpeter Jay Phelps and Worldwide FM’s Tina Edwards – all weekend, as well as serving as a hub for the festival.
