Tuesday, May 9, 2006

Alto saxophonist Christian Brewer sets out on an extensive UK tour with his quintet in support of a new album, Seesaw, scheduled for June release.

Brewer, who was runner up in the Sun Alliance Musician of the Year in 1999 and who has also played with Julian Joseph, Jason Rebello and Incognito, formed the current quintet last year with pianist Leon Greening, vibist Jim Hart, bassist Phil Donkin and drummer Tristan Mailliot. The new album Seesaw will be released by Basho Records on 12 June and the quintet have already hit the road for an extensive UK tour yet with gigs running through to July.
