Colectiva among Jazz re:freshed Weekly artists for new Brick Lane night

The pioneering live music series returns at an new venue with new names to look out for

Jazz re:freshed – the weekly showcase night that ran from 2003 at Mau Mau Bar, Portobello Road, London, spawned a label and fostered the current wave of young UK jazz talent – returns for the first time in three years to a new venue of 91 Living Room, Brick Lane.
Running every Thursday from 9pm, the series will kicked off on 1 September with a performance from DoomCannon, the project fronted by London pianist, composer and producer Dominic Canning. Further shows come from the likes of Parisian bassist and singer Amy Gadiaga, Hackney-born pianist and BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year winner Deschanel Gordon and the all-female group Colectiva.
The new series is supported by PPL, the UK’s music licensing company for more than 130,000 performers and recording rightsholders. Jazz re:freshed Weekly line-up is: Amy Gadiaga (8 Sept); Insxght (15 Sept); Deschanel Gordon (22 Sept); Colectiva (29 Sept); DC Trio (6 Oct); Alex Cosmo Blake (13 Oct) and R D E Trio (Eddie Nache) (27 October).
