Top Brit-jazz saxophonist makes an emphatic return to the UK live scene with two high-energy gigs

Celebrated UK saxophonist Courtney Pine is back and set to perform his first UK shows in two years with two special appearances. The first of these is at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in the heart of London’s Soho, where he’ll play four shows over two nights on 14 and 15 September.

He’ll be joined by his powerhouse band of dual guitars of Cameron Pierre and Chris Cobbson, alongside Samuel Dubois on Steel Pans and a top rhythm team of drummer Robert Fordjour and bassist Vidal Montgomery. Collectively they’ll be playing high-energy tunes from Pine’s merengue, ska, mento and calypso-influenced House of Legends album.

Pine and his band will then appear at St Edmund’s Festival on Saturday 25 September in the intimate 400-seat theatre at St Edmund’s School in Canterbury. This concert was postponed due to the pandemic, and the St Edmund’s Festival on the Hill will make a full return in June 2022.
