The world's oldest cymbal manufacturer and one of the oldest musical instrument companies, the Avedis Zildjian Co. celebrates its 400th anniversary with a major concert at the Clapham Grand in London on 15 October headlined by Dennis Chambers, one of the most electrifying jazz drummers of the past four decades.

Avedis Zildjian began creating cymbals in Constantinople, Turkey in 1623 and the family-owned company has gone on to become the world's largest cymbal company following a move to America where they started manufacturing cymbals in the Boston area from 1928. Avedis Zildjian 111 worked closely with jazz and swing band drummers such as Gene Krupa and the company developed cymbal types and models that had an important effect on the way jazz drumming developed over the years.

The 400th Anniversary Concert at the historic Clapham Grand on 15 October 2023 includes Chambers, King Crimson's Gavin Harrison, bandleader and former Paul Weller drum great Steve White, leading session drummers Karl Brazil and Ash Soan, and rock drummers Ben Thatcher (Royal Blood) and Craig Reynolds (Stray From The Path) who will all perform with a house band.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Zildjian's milestone anniversary in London with some of our most amazing artists, colleagues and friends," said Craigie Zildjian, the company's President and 14th generation owner. "This is a special moment to reflect not only on our history, but to share the excitement of what lies ahead."
