Jazz Centre UK announces new patrons and presents The 100 Jazz Albums That Shook the World Q&A at Love Supreme Jazz Fest

There will be a special talk and Q&A session with The 100 Albums… editor Jon Newey and DJ Chris Philips on 2 July at the big summer jazz festival this weekend

The Jazz Centre UK have announced that leading UK multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, jazz educator and social historian Orphy Robinson MBE and Jazzwise Editor-in-Chief and percussionist Jon Newey are the latest high-profile names to become patrons of the registered charity. They join the likes of Zoe Rahman, Jamie Cullum and Chris Philips who are also advocates of the JCUK’s work and will all help to emphasise the diversity and inclusivity of the music, audiences building and governance as a charity. 

The Jazz Centre UK will also be hosting a discussion and Q&A about Jazzwise's The 100 Jazz Albums That Shook the World book with its editor Jon Newey and jazz DJ Chris Philips, of Jazz FM and Jazzed, at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival on Saturday 2 July at 12.15pm in the Jazz Lounge. Introduced by the Jazz Centre's Mark Kass, Newey and Philips will also be playing selections from albums featured in the book and taking questions from the audience.
