Kamasi Washington and Moses Boyd play Sunfall Young Turks club night
Tuesday, May 17, 2016
LA sax titan Kamasi Washington is set to shake things up in the leafy suburban surroundings of Herne Hill, when he plays an intimate set at the Off the Cuff bar on the evening of his appearance at the Sunfall Festival, Brockwell Park, south London on 9 July.

Washington, whose rise to global fame in the last year is largely thanks to the success of his bold triple debut album The Epic, will be joined by his band of keyboardist Brandon Coleman, double bassist Miles Mosley and the powerful double drum onslaught of Tony Austin and Ronald Bruner.
Hosts leading indie label Young Turks – a subsidiary of XL Recordings whose roster includes FKA Twigs, SBTRKT and Jamie xx (the latter also performs as part of the main Sunfall festival in the park) – will also present a DJ set by Mica Levi (best known for her work with Micachu & The Shapes) and an opening slot from multi-award winning young jazz drummer Moses Boyd who performs solo, playing drums, laptop and electronics on music from his eagerly-anticipated solo album, Exodus.
