Let Spin roll out for album and UK tour

Monday, February 3, 2014

Newly formed quartet Let Spin featuring guitarist Moss Freed, bassist Ruth Goller (Acoustic Ladyland), saxophonist Chris Williams (Led Bib) and drummer Finlay Panter (Beats & Pieces) are set to launch their debut album later this month, followed by a UK tour.

The group of genre-crossing musicians was formed in 2012 and with each member contributing compositions it was not long before they were in the studio. The self-titled debut release Let Spin is released 10 February on Efpi Records.

While it’s clear to see the influences of the member’s previous work, they have managed to create their own sound utilizing strong edgy grooves to great effect, building up to explosive sections of improvisation as displayed by the catchy ‘102 Hill Street’. Fans of bands such as Polar Bear, Led Bib and Acoustic Ladyland will feel right at home.

The tour dates are as follows: The Bell Inn, Bath (17, Feb); Dempseys, Cardiff (18 Feb); The Lescar, Sheffield (19 Feb); Matt & Phreds Jazz Club, Manchester (20 Feb); Fox and Newt, Leeds (21 Feb); Zeffirelli’s, Ambleside (Feb 22); Splinter, Newcastle (23 Feb); The Art Bar – Formerly The Bullingdon – Oxford (25 Feb); The Tin Music & Art Centre, Coventry (26 Feb) and The Vortex, London (27 Feb).
