Love Supreme Jazz Festival returns in 2022 with Erykah Badu confirming only UK show as headliner

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

The neo soul superstar has been confirmed as the first headline act for the return of Europe’s biggest greenfield jazz festival

Love Supreme Jazz Festival is set to break its two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, when it returns from 1-3 July 2022 to its picturesque locale of Glynde Place in East Sussex. Having grown in popularity since its first edition in 2013, its attendance reached over 44,000 people across the weekend in 2019. Multi-Grammy winning vocalist Badu will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her hugely influential debut album, Baduizm, in what will be her sole UK performance in 2022, headlining the mainstage on Saturday 2 July. Her triple-platinum certified debut gained her commercial and critical success for her sophisticated jazz-inflected take on soul and funk.

Commenting on the announcement Love Supreme Festival Director, Ciro Romano said: “We couldn’t be happier to be announcing Erykah Badu, a true innovator and undoubtedly one of the most exciting performers of her generation, as the first artist confirmed for Love Supreme 2022. We have many more big-name announcements planned over the coming weeks and we look forward to welcoming our Love Supreme family back to the South Downs next summer.”

The festival is renowned for its savvy blend of big jazz names, rising stars, soul and funk headliners as well as late night DJ sets, wide selection of on-site bars and food stalls, glamping and camping. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks. Jazzwise is festival media partner.
