Michael Janisch Paradigm Shift – Album preview tracks and massive UK Tour

Taking the form of an ambitious double live album recorded at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho in May 2011, the record also features subtle live effects by Alex Bonney with further electronic post production by Janisch, that fuses a driving, high energy live performance with immersive atmospheric effects. Other musicians featured on the recording include the UK’s Paul Booth on tenor saxophone, flutes, bass clarinets, didgeridoo and percussion plus a trio of US rising stars including trumpeter Jason Palmer, sometime Esperanza Spalding sideman Leonardo Genovese on piano and keyboards/effects and highly respected drummer Colin Stranahan.

Heading out on an extensive tour the Paradigm Shift band will include two different lines ups (due to scheduling) featuring a revolving cast of saxophonists Booth (PB) and Jason Yarde (JY), trumpeters Andrew Bain (AB), Percy Pursglove (PP) and Alex Bonney (AB), pianist Cedric Hanriot (CH), and bassist Janisch (MJ), with drum duties on early the part of tour by Andrew Bain and Colin Stranahan on the later gigs.
