Mike Stern packs power-punch with SNJO operations

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Grammy-nominated guitarist and composer Mike Stern teams-up with the ground-breaking Scottish National Jazz Orchestra for what promises to be an exhilarating programme of string-driven orchestrations.

The SNJO has called upon a procession of gifted arrangers, such as Florian Ross, Geoffrey Keezer, Bob Mintzer and Christian Elsässer, to reconfigure esteemed Stern originals including ‘A Wing and A Prayer’, ‘What Might Have Been’, ‘Avenue B’ and ‘Wishing Well’, while Jesper Riis, Rob Bauer and Anders Larson inject an almighty surge into charts for ‘Tipitina’s’, ‘Tumble Home’ and ‘Chromazone'.

Catch a pulsating evening of captivating collaboration (preceded by a pre-concert talk) on the following dates: Queens Hall Edinburgh (26 Feb); Gardyne Theatre Dundee (27 Feb) and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (28 Jan).
