Natalie Williams set to open new Pizza Express venue The Singers Lounge

Wednesday, August 19, 2015

The Singers Lounge, the new venue at Pizza Express on London’s St Martin’s Lane, is scheduled to open its doors on 3 September.

Inspired by the backstreet bars of New York, the new venue focuses on showcasing vocalists and singer-pianists. Performing at the opening two nights are popular soul-jazz singer Natalie Williams and Memphis native singer-songwriter Charlie Wood (3-4 Sept, 9pm).

Also among the first artists featured are Natalie Duncan (10 Sept, 9pm) who impressed audiences on Later… with Jools Holland; respected trumpeter and vocalist Georgina Jackson with pianist Nick Dawson (11 Sept, 9pm); Basement Jaxx lead vocalist Vula (17-18 Sept, 9pm); and singer, composer and Broadway star Shoshana Bean (2-4 Oct, 9pm).

After each performance an open mic will be hosted by resident singer-pianist Damian Flood from 11pm until late.
