NYC Jazz Stars Line-Up for Bar Bayeux Livestream sessions

There’s a great chance for Jazzwise readers to listen to and support some of New York’s leading jazz names as they appear on a series of weekly livestreamed gigs direct from the intimate stage of NYC venue Bar Bayeux.

Programmed by saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh, the series includes the likes of rising Blue Note-signed vibes virtuoso Joel Ross; in-demand drummer Allison Miller and her Trio; former David Bowie guitarist Ben Monder lining up with top saxophonist Tony Malaby and drummer Tom Rainey plus a powerful trio of downtown saxophonist Tim Berne with rhythm section luminaries Scott Colley (bass) and Nasheet Waits (drums).

Sabbagh explained how the sessions began: “Given the current situation, we have been doing streaming at Bar Bayeux, as a way for the series I was booking to continue, and as a means to help the bar survive under difficult circumstances. We sought seed money, bought equipment, have been learning to use it and we have been streaming once a week for the last couple of weeks.”
