Thursday, February 6, 2014

Acclaimed Anglo-Danish-Swedish piano trio Phronesis return for a UK tour this May as they promote the worldwide release of their forthcoming album Life To Everything, which is released on Edition records on 7 April.

The trio features bassist Jasper Høiby, pianist Ivo Neame and drummer Anton Eger who have established a substantial reputation both in Europe and the US for exciting live performances as showcased in their previous live album Alive, which was named 2010 Album of the Year by both Jazzwise and Mojo magazine.

The new album was recorded live at Jazz in the Round as part of last year’s London Jazz Festival over three sold-out performances at The Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone. The tour dates are as follows: Norfolk & Norwich Festival (20 May); Colston Hall, Bristol (23 May); Sage Gateshead, Gateshead (27 May); RNCM, Manchester (28 May); Union Chapel, London (29 May); Crescent Art Centre, Belfast (30 May) and Town Hall, Birmingham (31 May). Watch out for April’s issue of Jazzwise for an exclusive in-depth Phronesis interview.
