Quincy Jones At BBC Jazz Awards

The BBC is to honour Quincy Jones with a lifetime achievement award.
The big band leader, jazz trumpeter, record producer and media owner will receive his award in person at the BBC Jazz Awards in July, directing the Guy Barker big band plus guests. Nominations for this year's awards include Jools Holland, Georgie Fame, Elaine Delmar (Jazz Artist of The Year), Bobby Wellins, Anita Wardell, Ray Gelato (Best of Jazz), John Taylor, Ronnie Rae, Dennis Rollins' Badbone And Co (Best Band), Tim Garland's Lighthouse Project, Jason Yarde, Spring Heel Jack (Innovation), Held On the Tips of Fingers by Polar Bear, Last Chance Disco by Acoustic Ladyland, Max by Partisans, Angel of Presence by John Taylor, Yeah! by Alan Barnes, The Lyric by Jim Tomlinson feat. Stacey Kent (Album of The Year), Andrew McCormack, Julia Biel, Polly Gibbons (Rising Star), Alan Barnes, Seb Roachford, Tim Garland (Best Instrumentalist), Ian Shaw, Jacqui Dankworth and Clare Teal (Best Vocalist). Ian Carr is also to receive the services to jazz award.
