Rob Luft & Elina Duni, Camilla George and many more for The Dome at Snape Maltings’ summer season

A strong line-up of leading UK jazz names are set to appear at the new outdoor Dome Stage at this beautiful Suffolk venue

Idyllically located Suffolk venue, Snape Maltings, have been working with EFG London Jazz Festival promoters Serious to curate a strong programme for its extensive summer concert season. This runs over six weeks of early evening music on the new outdoor Dome Stage from late July to the end of August.

The beautiful stage is set under a geodesic dome next door to the concert hall, by the River Alde, and tickets are completely free but will need to be booked in advance. Highlights include alto saxophonist Camilla George, the bucolic jazz-folk songs of vocalist Elina Duni and guitarist Rob Luft, Mercury Prize nominees Dinosaur working with Aldeburgh Young Musicians, award-winning singer Alice Zawadzki collaborating with bass virtuoso Misha Mullov-Abbado and a riotous August Bank Holiday weekend gig from the superb Kansas Smittys Bank Holiday Band.

Jazz dates are: Camilla George (23 July); Rob Luft & Elina Duni (28 July); Dinosaur collaborating with Aldeburgh Young Musicians (29 July); Perhaps Contraption collaborating with Aldeburgh Young Musicians (4 and 7 Aug); Cande y Paulo from Argentinas (11 Aug); Eli y La Evolucion (12 Aug); Sarah Jane Morris (15 Aug); Ranjana Ghatak (18 Aug); Alice Zawadzki & Misha Mullov-Abbado (19 Aug); Ayanna Witter-Johnson (20 Aug); Arun Ghosh (22 Aug); Cherise (25 Aug); Brass Funkeys (26 Aug); Jazz Morley (28 Aug) and Kansas Smitty’s Bank Holiday Band (30 Aug).

There are additional, also free, jazz concerts taking place in August within the Snape Maltings concert hall with dates including: The Julian Bliss Septet pays tribute to Benny Goodman (5 Aug); the 12-piece Down with the Count Swing Orchestra (9 Aug); jazz vocalist Hailey Tuck (13 Aug); the Pete Long Big Band with singers Wayne Hernandez, Vimala Rowe and Earl Jackson (19 Aug); London Community Gospel Choir (22 Aug); multi-award-winning vocalists Claire Martin and Liane Carroll (23 Aug) and Tango Siempre (28 Aug).
