The dynamic saxophonist heads out a multi-date tour this month to play music from his latest album, Bogus Notus
Northern English saxophonist Sam Newbould heads out on a UK tour with his Quintet this September in support of his most recent album Bogus Notus (ZenneZ Records) for dates that were postponed thanks to the pandemic. The seven-date tour follows their last sold out performance at the Vortex and will see the group premiere brand new music written by Newbould in the build up to their third album recording, to be released in 2024.
The band features Newbould on alto sax/compositions alongside Bernard van Rossum (tenor saxophone), Xavi Torres (piano), Guy Salamon (drums) and Jort Terwijn (bass), all of whom appear on the following dates: Band on the Wall, Manchester (18 Sept); Jazz at the Spotted Dog, Birmingham (19 Sept); Jazz at HEART, Leeds (20 Sept); The Ropewalk, Hull (21 Sept); The Bear Club, Luton (22 Sept); The Vortex, London (23 Sept) and Peggy’s Skylight, Nottingham (24 Sept).
