Sax-led jazztronica trio The Comet Is Coming are set to release their debut album, Channel The Spirits, on the Leaf Label on 1 April, and Jazzwise is proud to present a first listen to the record below.
The band’s incendiary Sun Ra-inspired sound of hypnotic sax lines, throbbing electro synths and propulsive beats is whipped up by King Shabaka (Shabaka Hutchings), Danalogue The Conqueror (Dan Leavers) and Betamax Killer (Max Hallett) respectively.
