Establishing himself as a soloist over his two Ubuntu Music releases, 2018’s Kavuma and its acclaimed 2019 follow-up The Banger Factory, his expansive Banger Factory Collective has built a significant following thanks to their five-year residency at Brixton’s Prince of Wales Pub, which is now continuing every Wednesday at the central Brixton bar that’s renowned for its large open roof terrace.

The core of the band includes drummer Will Cleasby, bassist Michael Shrimpling, pianist Deschanel Gordon, keyboardist Reuben James, guitarist Artie Zaitz, vibist David Mrakpor, tenorists Musshinghi Brian Edwards and Ruben Fox, and trombonist Trevor Edwards, with numerous big-name guests from across the capital’s diverse scene.

The December release is titled Kinetika Bloco All-star Album, which will celebrate the legacy of the brass-heavy South London performance group Kinetika Bloco on its 21st anniversary. Drawing on influences from the Caribbean, Brazil, Africa and New Orleans, the album will feature the likes of Theon and Nathaniel Cross, Ritchie Seivwright, Nubya Garcia, Sheila Maurice-Grey, Lily Carassik and Claude Deppa among many others.
