Victor Wooten gets funky Under the Bridge

Five-time Grammy-winning bass guitar guru Victor Wooten kicks off a series of jazz-funk and blues nights at swanky Chelsea live venue Under The Bridge, when he appears there on 29 June.

With additional gigs at The Fleece, Bristol (28 June) and Gorilla, Manchester (30 June) – Wooten will bring his hugely dynamic touring band with him to play his hyperactive mix of funk, fusion, jazz and soul, all peppered with his astonishing bass work.

Two renowned former James Brown jazz-funk kingpins also appear, firstly sax man Pee Wee Ellis with his Assembly with Huey Morgan (1 July) and trombonist Fred Wesley with his New J.B.’s (30 July). And adding some soulful-blues to the mix is former Miles Davis guitarist and singer Robben Ford follows this on 11 July, playing tunes from his 2015 album, Into The Sun, while
