The powerhouse Norwegian super-group are back with another visually arresting, sonically-charged new video

With the release of their ninth album, Pyramid, Jaga Jazzist took a refreshing approach to their sometimes complex music making – and wrote and recorded the record’s four intense instrumentals in the space of just two weeks in the studio. The end result is stripped-back and groove-heavy with no shortage of their transcendently epic melodies that spiral to infinity and beyond. The album is also the group’s debut on the Brainfeeder label, and sees them join the likes of Kamasi Washington, Thundercat and label founder Flying Lotus on its esteemed roster.
Receiving a glowing review in the July issue of Jazzwise – Stuart Nicholson wrote of Pyramid: “Highlights are ‘Tomita’ with Lars Horntveth’s extended tenor sax intro, and the album climax, ‘Apex’ which builds and builds through dramatically paced key changes.”
