Uplift is the new quartet album by Italian guitarist and composer, Giuseppe Pucciarelli. It features long time collaborators Aldo Capasso on double bass, Ergio Valente on piano and Marco Gagliano on drums.

Commenting on the album Pucciarelli  said: “We recorded my debut album Shall We Say It Is Worth It back in 2017, and this album is perhaps its natural extension. I had the sound of Ergio and Marco in mind when composing the music, and I knew I had my friend Aldo Capasso watching my back (he’s played on all of my albums and most of my concerts!). Uplift wouldn’t sound the same without these guys. And that is the reason why the album gets released under The Pucciarelli Group as the artist name and not just my name. It’s about them too.”

The guitarist combines his deep understanding of the jazz tradition with a fresh and contemporary approach; the seven original compositions range from ‘Kenny’s Time’, a homage to Kenny Wheeler and the musicians who worked with him, to the title track which explores Pucciarelli’s love of beautiful, melodic lines. “Although I like complex harmonies, chord progressions and rhythm used in jazz music, I like writing and playing melodies which can be memorable and singable. For me, music goes beyond classifications and names, it is just music.”
