The versatile and adventurous guitarist releases his trippy soul-jazz single featuring acclaimed vocalist Poppy Ajudha

A regular performer on UK and US jazz scenes, versatile virtuoso guitarist Tom Ford has an impressive list of collaborations to his name including Poppy Ajudha, Jay Prince, Jevon, Col3trane, Daley, Swindle, Aron the Bassist and more. He’s the current guitarist in Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave’s Drumhedz having toured with them throughout 2019 and appearing on their NPR tiny desk concert. He has also featured extensively on tracks which will make up the next Drumhedz record, and continues to work with a number of leading UK jazz musicians.
Drawing on a wide-ranging set of influences – from the electronica of Flying Lotus to the angular harmonies of John Zorn, his own sophisticated soul-fusion is soon to be featured on his up-coming solo album which explores progressive jazz tinged with hip hop and Bossa Nova with modern production. The record features other high-profile musicians such as Chris Dave, Thaddeus Tribbet, Tim Lefebvre, Reuben James, Keyon Harold, David Hodek, Jay Prince, Davide Shorty, Magic Malik and many more.
Ford’s new single ‘Love You’ features award-winning vocalist Poppy Ajudha with a playfully trippy animated video created by by Birmingham-based Chinese visual artist, Shiyi Li and Belgrade based artist Guribosh, whose animated visuals were an imaginative way around the UK lockdown restrictions.
