Andrea Vicari’s Jazz ExTemporé tours new album

Pianist and composer Andrea Vicari’s Jazz ExTemporé is launching its second album, East and West, at the 606 Club on 22 October, before going on a week’s UK tour.

The band is known for its frontier-crossing approach to music, and the new album, released by 33 Records, combines jazz tradition with folk elements from eastern Europe and central Asia. Violinist and singer Medina Mektiva from Azerbaijan guests for one track, joining the regular line-up of Croatian guitarist Elvis Stanic, Bulgarian drummer Hristo Yotsov and Dutch/Indonesian bassist Rico de Jeer.
