Arun Ghosh Set For Ray’s Jazz At Foyles
Thursday, October 29, 2009
Arun Ghosh, the Manchester-based clarinettist and bandleader, continues to build on his busy year – that has seen him wow international promoters at the Bremen Jazz Ahead conference and a triumphant set at the Ronnie Scott’s Brit Jazz Fest this summer – with an intimate performance at Ray’s Jazz record shop at Foyles on London’s Charing Cross road.
Appearing with his band – that includes Mercury nominated Led Bib bassist Liran Donin and Idris Rahman (brother of Zoe) on saxophone – they will be performing a free half-hour set from 6pm on Friday 30 October. Ghosh will also be appearing as part of the London Jazz Festival at the Albany theatre on Sunday 15 November, leading a group of special guests that include beguiling songstress Julia Biel, singer Amira Kheir and new collaborations with cellist Jenny Adejayan, bassist Liran Donin and percussionist Rastko Rasic.
