Bob Dorough records for Candid

Thursday, January 20, 2005

Cult singer Bob Dorough, the writer of 'Three Is A Magic Number' and 'Comin' Home Baby', has recorded a new album for UK jazz label Candid.

Titled Small Day Tomorrow it's released in January and features Geoff Gascoyne on bass, Sebastiaan de Krom on drums plus saxophonist Derek Nash and singer Trudy Kerr. The album revisits the lyrics of Fran Landesmann and was produced by Gascoyne who first met Dorough in New York in 2002 while gigging with Jamie Cullum. Both Geoff and Jamie are big fans of Dorough and Cullum has sparked renewed interest in the Arkansas-born performer by including a song of his on the album Twentysomething. Dorough will perform tracks from the album at Live on the Park, London on 7 and 8 January.
