Jazz breaking news: Countdown To Oxford Jazz Festival

Not long to go until the Oxford Jazz Festival, which runs over the Easter weekend from 21-24 April, gets under way.

This year’s line-up, the most ambitious to date, features concerts all over the historic city with venues including the Ashmolean, the North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford Town Hall and St Michael at the North Gate. This year’s theme is Celebrating British Jazz and a host of top UK names are heading to Oxford for the festival.

The line-up includes the Elisa Caleb Quartet (Ashmolean Dining Room, 21 April), Deirdre Cartwright and Kathy Dyson (Café Tarifa, 21 April), Roger Beaujolais workshop (Jacqueline du Pre Music building, 21 April), Brandon Allen Trio (Tree Hotel, 21 April), Tim Whitehead with the Spin Trio (Spin Jazz Club, 21 April), Soweto Kinch, Big Colours Big Band and Fringe Magnetic (Oxford Town Hall, 22 April), Janette Mason Trio and Nicolas Meier Group (St Michael At The North Gate, 23 April), Bobby Wellins Quartet (North Wall Arts Centre, 23 April), Preston Reed (Modern Art, 23 April), Zara McFarlane Quartet (Malmaison, 24 April), Norma Winstone Trio and Kit Downes Sextet (Randolph Hotel, 24 April) and Natalie Williams (Quod, 24 April).
