Aimed at jazz industry professionals, musicians and jazz fans, Jazzahead has extended its new artist showcase to some 30 concerts spread over three days as a result of hugely increased demand. These include an Overseas Night that includes an appearance by Trichotomy from Australia, as well as groups from Brazil, Indonesia, Australia and Canada. Jazzahead also features a German Night with six hot new bands including Christina Fuchs’ No Tango, and the expo also hosts the European Jazz Meeting with 20 shows spread across two days, including the UK’s Partisans, Elifantree from Finland and Stian Westerhus from Norway.
The exhibition area, including representation by record companies, promoters, media, venues and national jazz organisations, has also been extended into an additional hall, while a new Club Night is launched giving visitors the chance to gorge on jazz at more than 10 different venues for the price of one ticket. – Jon Newey
