Jazz breaking news: Iain Ballamy and Natalie Williams get 606 British-Hungarian Jazz Fest swinging

London’s 606 Jazz Club, located in Lots Road, Chelsea, is set to play host to three nights of international music as musicians from Hungary and the UK take over the venue for the third British-Hungarian Jazz Festival, which runs from 9-11 October.
Organised through a partnership between the 606 and the Budapest Jazz Club, and supported by the Hungarian Cultural Centre of London, the event also celebrates 10 years of collaboration between the two capital city clubs.
The festival is an eclectic array of different styles and features collaborations between UK and Hungarian musicians including guitar master István Gyárfás, leading British jazz drummer Winston Clifford, Hungary’s new singing sensation Nikolett Vörös, saxophonist Iain Ballamy (pictured), and singer Natalie Williams.
Dates are: Wednesday 9 October: Iain Ballamy (saxes), Zoltán Lantos (electric violin), Huw Warren (piano), Steve Watts (bass), András Dés (percusssions) (8.30-9.30pm). Nikolett Vörös (vocals), László Vörös (piano), Steve Watts (bass), Martin France (drums) (10.00-11.00pm).
Thursday 10 October: Kriszta Pocsai (vocals), Steve Rubie (flute), Péter Sárik (piano), Márton Juhász (drums) (8.30-9.30pm). Tony Lakatos (saxes), Steve Fishwick (trumpet), Róbert Lakatos (piano), Arnie Somogyi (bass), Winston Clifford (drums) (10.00-11.00pm).
Friday 11 October: Natalie Williams (vocals), István Gyárfás (guitar), Phil Peskett (piano), Robin Mullarkey (bass), and drummer tba (9.30-10.45pm). Gyula Babos (guitar), Mónika Veres (vocals), Róbert Lakatos (piano), Laurence Cottle (bass guitar), Mike Bradley (drums) (11.15-12.30pm).
