Opening day highlights include Japanese pianist Satoko Fujii (Friday, 9.30pm); and the festival is bookended with composer/poet/violinist Renee’ Baker of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians in Chicago who will lead two free workshops on Sunday.

Among the many other highlights Andreas Gogol with members of GIO are to take part in an event entitled Interference in Motion – Experimental Short Films & Live Scoring held during the weekend and Festival IV is also notable for the coming together of the fine drum improvising quartet of Stu Brown, Tom Bancroft, Chris Wallace, and Fritz Welch.
