Jazz Breaking News: Kit Downes Trio and Jamie Cullum play Chappell’s Fundraiser for the homeless

Thursday, August 18, 2011

World famous music shop, Chappell of Bond Street, London, is celebrating its bi-centenary this year with a series of special in-store concerts featuring top jazz and classical pianists performing for the homeless charity Centrepoint.

As Yamaha’s flagship UK store this in-store concert series at Chappell kicked off with leading classical piano recitalists Freddy Kempf and Artur Pizarro in April and June, and continues with pianist Kit Downes and his trio, including bassist Calum Gourlay and drummer James Maddren, on 15 September followed by a special show with singer/pianist Jamie Cullum at a date to be confirmed shortly.

Audience capacity is restricted to 100 people for each concert and they will not only get to witness an intimate gig in a unique venue, with all proceeds going to this most worthy cause at Centrepoint, but also get the chance to imbibe speciality beers from one of London’s leading micro-breweries. Ticket price for the Kit Downes Trio is £25.
