Jazz breaking news: Literary listening on Jazz FM

Friday, June 15, 2012

Tune into Jazz FM at 9am tomorrow for the launch of Taking Notes, an hour-long book review show hosted by David Freeman.

Each week David will be exploring the links between jazz and literature, talking to different writers about their latest work and playing the music that inspires them.

Tomorrow’s guest is writer and filmmaker Hannah Rothschild, author of The Baroness. The book tells the story of Rothschild’s great aunt Nica, one of the New York jazz scene’s most loyal patrons in the mid-twentieth century, perhaps best known for her poignant relationship with Thelonious Monk.
