Jazz breaking news: New eBook Give Tips And Advice To Jazz Musicians On How To Get Gigs

Monday, September 20, 2010

A new free e-book download has just been published that offers advice and tips for jazz musicians to get gigs.

The man behind the download, booking agent James Taylor has also launched a jazz database website which he claims is the biggest of its kind, with some 9,000 contacts listed in over 50 countries, for musicians to use as a tool to get gigs.

Taylor, who is chief executive officer of Dundee-based independent music company P3 music, is the son of guitarist Martin Taylor, and has been booking high profile tours for 15 years. His company will charge a monthly subscription fee for the database service which came about, he says, in publicity material, as an extension of his address book, following frequent approaches made to his company by musicians wishing to be represented but who he cannot commit to because of a heavy workload.

The free eBook is distilled from Taylor’s experience with advice drawn from his experience in the business. It covers topics such as getting that elusive gig; building international touring; increasing earning power; booking gigs in less time; and building a live fanbase.
