Jazz breaking news: Revoice! Returns With Tuck And Patti, Raul Midón And Claudia Acuña

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

London-based jazz singer Georgia Mancio has announced the line-up for the third edition of her highly successful ReVoice! Festival, last year’s event having featured outstanding performances by Norma Winstone and Karin Krog, and four sold-out nights from Gregory Porter.

Running 11-18 October at the Dean Street Pizza Express Jazz Club this year’s event joins forces with international promoters ESIP who will be bringing Latin American soul jazz star Raul Midón (19 Oct, pictured) and celebrated husband and wife duo Tuck & Patti (20 Oct) for two larger-scale shows at the Union Chapel in Islington.

The ten-day event also sees the long awaited return of Chilean jazz singer Claudia Acuña (11-12 Oct), whose last album En Este Momento was released on Marsalis Music in 2009, as well as appearances by former Count Basie powerhouse Jamie Davis (13-14 Oct), ever-brilliant Liane Carroll (15 Oct) emerging vocal talent Becca Stevens and remarkable John Zorn-inspired a cappella group Mycale. Mancio also creates her own “festival within a festival” with a series of opening sets each night featuring special collaborations with top UK players Jason Rebello, Jim Hart, Laurence Cottle, Phil Robson, John Parricelli and Grant Windsor among others.
