Jazz breaking news: Tammy Weis and Gilad Atzmon For Busy Summer at the 606

A busy summer at Chelsea’s 606 Club sees classy Canadian singer Tammy Weis (pictured) back (1 July) with both a fine a band, featuring charismatic young guitarist James Bryan, and performing songs from her recent album Where I Need to Be.

Weis will also be celebrating Canada Day that happens to fall on the same date. A special Hungarian night on 27 June showcases rising star saxophonist Viktor Toth and his trio and promising pianist Janos Nagy's Trio, while dates by Bobby Wellins Quartet (30 June) and Gilad Atzmon Quartet (28 July), are not to be missed. Remaining dates for June include Dave Curtis Quartet (20); One Up feat. Dave Lewis (22); Peter King Quintet (23); 24 Pesos (25); Viktor Toth Trio plus Janos Nagy Trio (27); Mike Outram (28); Samara (29) and Bobby Wellins Quartet (30).
